Muscles, joints and movement: a practical guide for active days

By the Pure Contour team · Updated

A regular walk, a gym session or taking the stairs can all be part of an active life. You do not need an ambitious training plan to begin. This guide explains the value of strength, flexibility and a gradual warm-up, then shows where EEZE warming body care fits. The movement advice draws on NHS guidance; the product directions come from the EEZE label.

What do muscles and joints have to do with everyday movement?

Your muscles and joints work together when you stand up, climb steps or reach for something. Strength activities make muscles work harder than usual. Flexibility activities help joints maintain the range of movement needed for everyday tasks. The NHS recommends strengthening the major muscle groups on at least two days each week, starting gradually and building up over time. These are benefits of doing the activity itself. See the NHS guide to strength and flexibility.

Start with a walking routine you can repeat

Choose a familiar route and a time that fits your day: after lunch, on a work break or while meeting a friend. If you are not very active, begin with a manageable distance and increase it gradually. Comfortable shoes that give support and do not cause blisters make the routine easier to maintain.

The NHS explains that a brisk ten-minute daily walk counts towards the recommended weekly activity total. At a brisk pace, you should still be able to talk but not sing. Your starting point can be smaller: first make the walk a habit, then consider a little more distance or pace. Read NHS walking for health.

At the gym, build a routine around the basics

Think about the movements in your session before starting. A class, a resistance session and a return to exercise after a break can each call for different preparation. Ask your instructor to explain unfamiliar equipment or adapt a movement you find difficult. Keep your first sessions manageable enough that you can learn the movements and repeat them confidently.

A useful question to take to an instructor is: “What should I practise first, and how will I know when to progress?” That turns a vague goal such as “move more” into a routine you understand.

Does a warming cream replace warming up?

No. An exercise warm-up involves movement. NHS guidance describes gradually raising your heart rate and body temperature, then including controlled movements relevant to the activity ahead. This prepares your muscles, joints and tendons for exercise. A warming feeling from body cream is not the same process. Leave time for your warm-up and follow your instructor’s advice. See NHS advice on preparing for activity.

What does EEZE’s warming sensation tell you?

EEZE Power Therma Cream is warming body care in a 100 ml pump bottle. Its place in this guide is topical body care alongside an active routine. A feeling of warmth on your skin does not establish that a product repairs joints, strengthens muscles or treats an injury. We explain EEZE’s format, ingredients and label directions so you can make an informed choice.

Read the full EEZE product information before using it. If a product listing and your bottle give different advice, contact the Pure Contour team before applying it.

How should I apply EEZE?

  1. Shake before use.
  2. Apply a thin layer to the area of discomfort. Do not rub in.
  3. Wash your hands after use.

Always read and follow the label supplied with your bottle. For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. Not suitable for children. Do not apply to open wounds or injured skin, or use with heat, particularly a heated pad or hot water.

If the product gets into your eyes or a skin allergy develops, rinse with plenty of water. If symptoms persist, contact a doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, seek medical advice before using the cream.

When should joint symptoms get attention?

If joint pain affects normal activities or sleep, keeps returning or is getting worse, seek advice from a GP. A hot, swollen joint or joint pain with feeling unwell needs urgent advice from a GP or NHS 111. Read the NHS joint pain guidance, including when an injury needs emergency help.
